Visa Requirements
To Visit Panama
1. Visa Exemption via Third-Country Visas or Residency

If you have a multiple-entry visa or valid residence (used previously) from Canada, the U.S., Australia, South Korea, Japan, the U.K., Singapore, or any EU country, and:

It’s valid for at least 6 months upon arrival in Panama,

You have a passport with minimum 3 months validity,

Proof of economic solvency ≥ US $500,

A round-trip ticket,
→ You may enter Panama visa-free for up to 30 days.

2. Visa-Free Access — 90-Day Stay

Nationals of numerous countries (e.g., Germany, Argentina, Canada, Japan, Spain, U.K., U.S., among many others) can enter without any visa for up to 90 days.
3. U.S. & Canadian Citizens — 180-Day Stay

U.S. and Canadian citizens can stay as tourists in Panama for up to 180 days, empowered by Resolution 22706 (September 2021).
4. Authorized or Stamped Visa — When Required
If you don’t qualify for the above exemptions:

Authorized Visa: Approval takes up to 60 business days.

Stamped Visa: The process may require access to a Panamanian consulate and typically allows multiple entries; stay is generally 30 days per visit.
5. Transit Travel Rules

Nationals from restricted countries (e.g., Afghanistan, India, Nigeria, and others) may transit through Panama if they:

Hold a valid Panamanian visa or residence permit, or

Hold a multiple-entry visa/residence from the countries listed in Section 1, or
-
Are diplomatic/consular agents, transport crew or seafarers, or
-
Are simply traveling to/from a country where they hold a visa/residence.
